At long last year round fine art classes at Artwell! The Creative Learning Center is open to provide high quality fine art classes to children and
adults. Our instructors are professional artists with teaching experience. The Creative Learning Center carries on Artwell's commitment to its members, friends and community.

Adults course descriptions

Nature Printing
Learn about its history, how to gather / store, ink and imprint plants on paper.We document anatomical detail in the Rennaissance tradition and explore contemporary interpretations with colors, overlays, collage & calligraphy. Bring (pre-pressed) foliage, feathers, shells. materials fee

Hand Bound Artist Journal
Capture the muse when she strikes! Make a flexible handbound artist’s journal that goes wherever you go. Unique journal design based on the Medieval girdle book. Techniques include: planning book & cover dimensions, coptic stitch, tipping in. materials fee

Hybrid Painting
Interested in integrating technology into your artwork? Now is your chance to learn current methods and invent your own. Our instructor will help you create the kind of work you have only dreamed of making. This a new media class, be cutting edge!

Beginning Watercolor
No experience needed. Learn techniques such as color mixing, washes, wet in wet, dry brush, masking, and layering. Have fun with something new, and learn how watercolor can be bright and vibrant. Materials list provided upon registration.

Jewelry for Adults
Students will explore a number of different techniques, from
working with semi-precious metals, stones & glass to create
both “functionable” & “sculptural” designs. A materials fee may apply depending on the materials you choose to use . Please join us for this exciting NEW class

Portraiture
An introduction to portrait rendering, basic sketching and shading techniques will be covered as well working toward a finished drawing. We will be drawing the human face, working primarily
from photographs. Materials will be provided.

Native American Bead Weaving
Come join us as we learn the traditional craft of Native
American Bead Weaving. In this class students will spend a
week building there own looms & using them to create their
first Native American Beaded Jewelry. Students should leave this class with a good understanding of basic beading techniques, tools, findings & materials.

Kids course descriptions
The Making of the Mini Comic

ages 10&up
The “mini” in minicomics refers to a relatively small print run and also how much personal labor is involved on the part of the artist and friends. In this class we create a minicomic complete with techniques on thumbnail sketches, layout, mock ups, story development, inking and final production.

Friendship Bracelets
ages 10-14
Weave, invent, create. Learn how to make bracelets and key chains with intricate weaving patterns. Add beads, feathers and mementoes to make your bracelet very special indeed!

Jewelry for Kids!
ages 8 - 12
Students will explore a number of different techniques, from

create at least 3 different pieces of jewelry throughout the
week. Please join us for this exciting NEW class.

Native American Bead Weaving
ages 10 & up
Come join us as we learn the traditional craft of Native
American Bead Weaving. In this class students will spend a
week building there own looms & using them to create their
first Native American Beaded Jewelry. Throughout the week
students will be designing & creating at least TWO pieces,
a bracelet and a barrette using basic traditional beading
techniques. Students should leave this class with a good
understanding of basic beading techniques, tools, findings
& materials. BRING A SHOEBOX to the first day of class!

Draw, Print, Paint and Sculpt  
ages 6-10
Students will create and complete a new project each day in a different medium – Drawing, Painting, Printing, and Clay Sculpture. Please bring a smock.

Simply Soap
ages 12& up adults welcome!
Learn how to make soaps for all kinds of occasions. Students will mold glycerine soaps and add scent, color, and herbs. Make soaps of various shapes and sizes. Learn to package soaps for gifts, parties and any special occasions. Good, clean fun! ;)

Holiday Card Workshop
ages 10 & up
Learn how to make the best greeting cards just in time for the holidays! Students will design and create folding cards, pop ups, origami boxes and more. Make cards for your friends and family! Nothing is better than a card you make yourself! Come design
with us!

ages 4&5
Imagine! Create! and Develop! Parents and kids will complete a
festive project each day, together. From Sand Art to Stamping. Each day the student will bring home a new project to share with
the whole family
